Welcome, We Want to Hear From You!

This survey of Black Pittsburghers, past and present is designed to give us a better understanding of our strengths, weaknesses, and other factors that are causing some of us to stay in the region, while others leave. Please take the time to let us know what you think!

About The Black Pittsburgh Satisfaction and Retention Survey:

The Center on Race and Social Problems (CRSP) and Corporate Equity and Inclusion Roundtable (CEIR) are spearheading a critical initiative aimed at advancing social justice and promoting economic growth in the City of Pittsburgh and the Greater Pittsburgh Region. Our mission is to conduct solution-oriented social science research, with a particular emphasis on the Black working population in and recently removed from the City of Pittsburgh and the Greater Pittsburgh Region.

For the current study, we seek to gather comprehensive data and nuanced insights into the attitudes, experiences, and aspirations of Black/African American individuals within our community. By understanding why some choose to remain in the region while others opt to leave, we can address critical gaps and challenges faced by this underrepresented population. The collected data will serve as a valuable resource for employers, community organizers, and support service organizations. Our findings will inform targeted strategies to enhance economic opportunities and foster an inclusive environment for the Black workforce.

This project represents an unparalleled learning opportunity for all stakeholders, and we are committed to advancing racial equity, promoting informed decision-making, and creating a more inclusive and prosperous City of Pittsburgh and the Greater Pittsburgh Region. We hope you will aid us in this commitment by completing this survey and sharing your anonymous experiences with our team. We also hope you will share this link with others who may also have insights to provide.
